Fantastic First Chapter Books from Nosy Crow

These books are perfect for children who are able to start to read longer books, these build up a child’s confidence,  these are usually books which have short chapters,  pictures and bigger writing. 

Here’s a run down of some of the best ones currently available.

Three fantastic short stories about Mabel,  these are funny, and follow Mabel as she tackles day to day life.

  • Written by Helen Peters.
  • Illustrated by Ellie Snowdon.

When Jasmine finds an injured foal, she decides to reunite her with its mother.

Brilliant story and beautiful pictures. 

Lyra and Misty 

  • Written by Julia Sykes.
  • Illustrated by Lucy Truman. 
  • Published by Nosy Crow on 6th May

This is from the popular unicorn academy series. Lyra is off on an adventure. 

Again this has chapters which are only 4- 5 pages long.

The Wildmeadow Hare

  • Written by Holly Webb. 
  • Illustrated by Dawn  Cooper. 
  • Published by Nosy Crow on 10th June

These books are always popular in my library,  the children love that it’s all about animals. 

The chapters in this book is a little bit longer.

The Puppy Who Ran Away

  • Written by Holly Webb 
  • Illustrated by Sophie Williams. 
  • Published by Nosy Crow on 1st April

Isabella is moving house to live with her mum and step family. 

She’s happy to find a new puppy. 

This is a very short book but still covers important issues.
