When I choose a book to read to the children at school I am finding more and more that the book needs to link in their education. An example of this could be that a year group is learning about a particular topic and during their library session I’m asked to read something that links in that. Now when I read to the nursery children the teacher has asked that the books are short, colourful with lots of pictures and ideally somewhere in the story there is a number link. I also choose books that look fun to read.
So in September this book will be heading down to Nursery with me and I will use this book with the children.
How many moose is too many moose? Two? Four? Eight? Sixteen? What happens when a herd of moose invites themselves over?
In Too Many Moose, a herd of moose have a rip-roaring family reunion full of dancing, cartwheels, pillow fights and more! This book will push your imagination to the ridiculous with energetic children’s music, oddball humour and endearing, lively animal characters that dive into comical antics.
This is completely perfect for reading to younger children, first there are the moose which are so funny and as we don’t have moose in this country this will be something to talk to the children about and possibly introduce some non fiction books to the children, and the writing is also funny and enjoyable to read.
And the children will be introduced to numbers in a fun way.
