It’s always a treat when a new edition of this series is published. My children, especially my youngest, adore these books and they always come away with some new interesting facts.
Hidden tombs, ghostly ships, boiled vipers, samurai warriors, snow machines, pet lions, hidden pyramids, secret codes, flaming fireballs, wooden swimsuits, sparkling jewels and many more are all woven together in this ingenious web of connected facts.
We like how one fact links on to another fact and before you know it you have changed facts.
I asked my two children to pick their two favourite facts for me to tell you about.
Oldest child – British Archaeologists discovered the lost remains of 15th century King Richard 111 buried under a car park –imagine how many people drove over him!
-According to legend a wolf raised two human babies who, when they grew up, founded the city of Rome.
Youngest child – From 1800 to 2013 it was officially illegal for women to wear trousers in Paris.
-The world’s oldest known pillow created in Mesopotamia around 9,000 years ago was made out of stone – lovely!
There are over 400 interesting facts brought to live by hilarious illustrations.
As a family we can’t wait to read about the next topic.
