When I first picked this book up I noticed how eye catching the cover was, it definitely made me want to pick it up.
As soon as I’d read the first chapter I knew that it was going to be one of those books that you would be unable to put down.
When Claude’s little sister, Amity, runs off into forbidden Badwell Woods – where children disappear – Deliah, Sam and Claude follow her to a mysterious mansion. Inside, time has frozen in the 1930s and an invitation promises a devious party game.
Not long after they find a terrified Amity, hiding from ‘ghosts’, the floor beneath their feet starts to twist and turn: the rooms are changing places. The house has rearranged itself like a giant Rubik’s cube.
To escape, they must solve the puzzle – and the century-old mystery of a girl who disappeared …
The book was an amazing read, one that takes you on a forgettable adventure, it will leave you questioning what you would do if you were in the childrens shoes.
When we start the book we find the children not getting on, Claude and Deliah have been lifelong friends, but when Sam enters relationships between Deliah and Claude turn sour, it doesn’t help that Claude is moving house and Deliah worries over her friendships.
Sam and Deliah don’t really get on and Sam spends a lot of time calling Deliah names
Things aren’t what they seem in the house and they will only get out if they all work together.
This book deals with issues such as bullying, the feelings you have with moving away and learning to love who you are.
As a massive fan of Christopher Edge book Escape Room this book is perfect for fans like mean edge-of-your-seat adventure packed full of puzzles, spooks and mystery!
