Locked Out Lily

I can remember what I was feeling when my younger brother was born, I was gutted,  I wanted a sister.

That was such a long time ago I never gave it much thought until my second child was born. I remember my oldest couldn’t wait and he idolised him the minute he was born.

Its all different for Lily she’s much other than my first child was, Lily is old enough to realise how different life will be for her. You see Lily also needs a kidney transplant, and she believes that the baby will take her place in her parents hearts.

Of course as adults we know how scared Lily must feel, and we also know that parents love all their children equally.

When Lily runs away from her grannies house she gets back to her home to find the house has been taken over by people who look like her parents but there not. Together with a snake, mole , crow and mouse she must defeat these people and get to the hospital to help her real parents.

This is a beautiful book, that deals with really important issues, the main story of course is Lily dealing with her illness and a new sibling. But of course there’s the story of friendship and believing in yourself.

The illustrations are some of the best I’ve seen, they bring the story to life. One of the best books of 2021.

Be sure to get yourself a copy of this must read title, available to pre order now, and publishing on 30th September, priced at £12.99 (hardback RRP).
