Established in 2018, the BookBound blog is managed by Helen and Sam, close friends and primary school librarians with a desire to share the passion for great quality children’s literature that they read, review, and share with the children in their lives, both at home and at work. Both of us are committee members for our local children’s book group, which is a part of the FCBG. In our roles as primary school librarians we have trained to become reading advocates amongst 4-11 year old age range of readers, and as such our blog is prominently aimed at that age range, although we do have teenagers at home, and therefore a knowledge of relevant titles for that age group too, and we enjoy reading and reviewing titles with that audience in mind.
On the BookBound blog the review aspect of content is provided by both Helen and Sam, with us reading and reviewing all age ranges, and chasing features with publishers directly. We enjoy collaborating on the same feature, with both of us reviewing a title we feel equally passionate about promoting, and there is always a blog tour or two that we both enjoy being invited to take part in.
We both hope you enjoy the content we provide on the blog as much as we do when creating it. It has been an incredible few years of reading, reviewing and recommending titles that we are privileged to be sent by authors and publishers alike. We share books on here that we would be happy to spend our own money on as parents for our children, and as librarians with tight budgets for our libraries, and hope that our insight into the books we share gives others in the same roles as us the information they need in order to select the best quality fiction that is available.
